I am fascinated by faces. For the "subjects" upon which we photographers focus our attention, the face is perhaps the most remarkable, certainly the most unique. The face is the person. Some of these people are friends and family. Most, however, are simply faces I encountered on the street. They are, like you and me, microcosms of love and joy and anguish and hope. "Each life is a universe unto itself" (Talmud).
All photographs in this collection were (mostly) taken with permission.
