A community is usually defined by its people. And the "Heights" in Jersey City is no exception. But I also like to think that its buildings — the structures which give shelter and sustenance, the homes and small shops — give the community its dressing, its flavor. This is especially true for the Heights.
Trying to take portraits of these buildings, however, without cars parked in front, is a major challenge. This is, after all, urban New Jersey.
